The Université libre de Bruxelles was founded in 1834 and is located at the heart of Europe. Its primary goal is to prepare students to think critically and cultivate a passion for research while keeping up with the changing needs of society. The institution offers a diverse selection of undergraduate and graduate programs through its 12 faculties, including 23 Masters programs taught in English. It also partners with 20 doctoral schools.

The ULB is committed to improving its contribution to the Sustainable Development Goals in the future, both through its teaching and research missions, as well as in the management of its campuses, and aims to play a significant role as a key institution in the city of Brussels. The institution is committed to contributing to the establishment of a society that recognizes and respects socio-ecosystemic processes, nature, and the limits of the biosphere. It also aims to promote social and economic justice and global equity and foster a culture of peace for present and future generations.
